Rosie. Napravnik, that is. The diminutive jockey rode Believe You Can in
outstanding stalking fashion to win the 138th running of the Kentucky
Oaks.
Broadway’s
Alibi took off in good order to lead for most of the race with Believe You Can
in tow. In deep stretch the daughter of Proud Citizen answered Rosie’s call to
win by a scant ¾ of a length. Broadway’s
Alibi ran second with Grace Hall third and Summer Applause fourth.
Napravnik is
the first female jockey to win the Kentucky Oaks. The winner paid $29.00 to win.
